Transmission Cross Member Buyer’s Guide

A one-piece transmission crossmember for manual-transmission Subarus. It weighs 7 lbs, about half as much as stock, and removes two pairs of stock bushings, so the transmission moves less and shifts feel tighter. It uses OEM-style transmission mounts, stock or aftermarket, and comes with grade 10.9 hardware.

Which one do I need?

If your car Choose
Is a GC, GD or GR chassis car with a manual transmission Transmission Cross Member (this one)
Is a 2015-2021 STI Transmission Cross Member (this one)
Is a 2015-2021 WRX with a manual transmission 2015+ WRX Transmission Cross Member
Has an automatic transmission Neither. Both crossmembers are for manual transmissions only.

The two crossmembers are mirror images of each other. This one clears the exhaust on the right-hand side of the car, which suits every car above, including the 2015-2021 STI. The 2015+ WRX version clears it on the left side, for the WRX's FA20 exhaust routing.

Common questions

Will it fit my automatic?
No. It's made for manual transmissions only.

Do I need new transmission mounts?
No. It uses OEM-style mounts, so your stock mounts or aftermarket OEM-style mounts will fit.

Why are there two versions?
Exhaust routing. This one clears the exhaust on the right-hand side. The 2015+ WRX's FA20 exhaust runs on the left, so its version is mirrored to clear that side.

I have a 2015-2021 STI. Which one do I need?
This one. The STI's exhaust runs on the right-hand side, like the earlier cars. The 2015+ WRX version is only for the WRX.

Can I get it powder coated?
Yes, as an option on the product page. Powder coating adds about 2-6 weeks. See Powder Coating.
