Our T-Bar replaces the stock rear differential support crossmember. It is 10 lbs lighter than stock and stiffer, and it clears one-piece driveshafts up to 4" in diameter. Every T-Bar comes with trailing arm mounts and grade 10.9 hardware.
Which one do I need?
The only choice is how the differential mounts to the T-Bar.
| If you | Choose |
|---|---|
| Want less load on the diff and less drivetrain noise, which suits most builds | Poly Bushing (recommended) |
| Want zero deflection and never want to replace a bushing | Solid |
Mounting style
Poly Bushing
Our recommendation for most builds. The bushings absorb shock loads before they reach the differential, which is easier on the diff, and they keep more drivetrain noise and vibration out of the cabin.
Solid
No bushings, so there is nothing to wear out or replace, and the diff can't move in its mount. The trade-off is that shock loads go straight into the differential, and more drivetrain noise and vibration reach the cabin.
Changing your mind later
You aren't locked into the style you order. The T-Bar can be switched between poly and solid later by fitting the other type of bushing.
Trailing arm mounts included
The T-Bar comes with its own trailing arm mounts, each with two holes:
| Hole | Use it for |
|---|---|
| Lower | The stock trailing arm position, for cars at stock height |
| Upper | The 1" drop setting, for lowered cars |
Don't add mounts from another product:
- Don't order our Trailing Arm Mounts with it. They can't be used with the T-Bar.
- If you order our Trailing Arms or XXXL Trailing Arms with it, leave their mount options off.
What it works with

- Our XXXL Trailing Arms
- One-piece driveshafts up to 4" in diameter
Don't order together
- Our Trailing Arm Mounts
- Our Geometry Special, which comes with its own Geo Special T-Bar
Construction
- 4130 steel tubing and 3mm Strenx plate
- MIG welded
- Grade 10.9 hardware included
Fitment
A rear part for the GC/GD group. It fits every one of these cars, whichever differential it runs:
- Impreza / WRX / STI 1993-2007 (GC, GF, GM, GD, GG)
- Legacy 1990-1999 (BC, BF, BJ, BD, BG, BK)
- Outback 1995-1999 (BD, BG, BK)
- Forester 1998-2008 (SF, SG)
The 2000-2004 Legacy and Outback (BE, BH) are not included, because only our GC/GD front parts fit them.
Common questions
Poly or solid?
Poly for most builds. Choose solid only if you want zero deflection and accept more noise, vibration and load on the diff. You can switch between them later with new bushings.
Do I need trailing arm mounts?
No. The T-Bar includes them.
What's the difference between this and the Geometry Special?
The Geometry Special is a complete kit for lowered track cars. It raises the differential 1" and comes with its own Geo Special T-Bar. If you're buying the Geometry Special, you don't need this T-Bar.
Can I get it powder coated?
Yes, as an option on the product page. Powder coating adds about 2-6 weeks. See Powder Coating.
